THE THREE SISTERS, A RADICAL ADAPTATION OF ANTON CHEKHOV'S CLASSIC PLAY, OPENING AT THE BOULDER FRINGE FESTIVAL. August 15th, 16th, 17th, 19th, 20th and 22nd at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, 1750 13th St
After a successful prototype production in Chicago last year, One Continuous Mistake's The Three Sisters comes to Boulder for a striking world premiere. Cut from four acts to fifty minutes—and presented by two men incapable by birth and number of embodying even the women of the title—Chekhov's masterpiece shines more brightly than ever. And, yes, there will be cake.
One Continuous Mistake is a performance duo founded, abolished and re-founded in 2006 as a laboratory for the exploration of pain, ecstasy, and willful idiocy. Building on their backgrounds in clown and butoh, and within conventional scripted theatre as actor/director/designer/playwrights, Ben Stuber and Taavo Smith are currently studying for MFAs at Naropa University's Theatre: Contemporary Performance program.
The Three Sisters opens at 10:30pm on Friday August 15th for a special "pay-what-you-can" premiere. The show runs Saturday August 16th at 8:30pm, Sunday August 17th at 7pm (3-for-1 special), Tuesday August 19th at 5:30pm ($5 + the roll of a die), Wednesday August 20th at 10:30pm, and Friday August 22nd at 5:30pm. Tickets cost $12 or $10 for students & seniors.
